Culture 101
Chinese AAA games don't just borrow from myth — they run on it. To read the Logic of the East, work through the four modules below.
Every module is built the same way: what you see on screen, how the pieces connect, and where the ideas came from. Depth is folded away behind panels, so you can skim a module in two minutes or read it for twenty.
🎓 Modules
| Module | Topic | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | The Taoism Code | Yin-yang, the five phases, qi, and talismans — why combat in these games is metaphysics. |
| 02 | The Three Realms | Heaven, earth, and the underworld as three jurisdictions — and why the cosmos is an org chart. |
| 03 | Samsara & Karma | Death as a checkpoint, and a ledger that balances itself. Why nobody gets to win and be finished. |
| 04 | Beasts & Myths | The shared bestiary behind every boss, and why Chinese monsters are researched rather than invented. |
🏮 Where to start
