Set during the turbulent end of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the game explores a world where old orders have crumbled. In the desolate lands of the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun, players take on the role of a wanderer forging their own path amidst the tides of history.

2. Core Philosophy: No Sects, Total Freedom

Where Winds Meet redefines the boundaries of open-world martial arts.

• No Sect Restrictions: Players are not bound to a single school. You can learn diverse techniques like Acupuncture and Tai Chi by "observing" others or challenging masters.
• Environmental Interaction: Elements like flowing water, falling leaves, and even animal behaviors can inspire your martial arts moves.
• Oriental Wonders: Beyond hard-hitting combat, the game integrates traditional cultural elements such as astrology and meridian systems.

3. Now Available: Multi-Platform Launch & Hidden Mountain

Where Winds Meet has been live for some time, with a rapid expansion across platforms:

• December 27, 2024 — China PC launch (open beta); January 2025 — China mobile launch.
• November 14, 2025 — international version on PC and PlayStation 5.
• December 12, 2025 — iOS / Android launch.
• June 8, 2026 — Xbox Series X|S, joining Game Pass.

Expansion Timeline:

• Imperial Palace (May 28, 2026): the first major expansion.
• Hidden Mountain (July 23, 2026): the second major expansion.
• Hidden Mountain Chapter 2: "Heaven's Threshold" (August 20, 2026): a new giant mechanical boss, Drunken Fist techniques, and more.

Gamescom 2026: NetEase will showcase Where Winds Meet at Gamescom 2026 (Cologne, August 26–30, Hall 7.1, Booth B-050), featuring a playable demo of the Hidden Mountain expansion as the finale.
