The story takes place during the turbulent final years of the Ming Dynasty in the land of Bashu. Beyond the historical chaos lies the "Featherization" plague—a grotesque mutation linked to the mysterious Sanxingdui civilization that transforms people into eldritch horrors instead of immortals.

2. Core Elements: Qi & Eldritch Powers

• Sanxingdui Aesthetics: Enemy and environment designs are deeply integrated with elements from Shu civilization, such as bronze trees and golden masks.
• Brutal Combat: Players take on the role of Wuchang, a memory-lost warrior navigating a blend of cold weapons and early firearms.
• Cthulhu-inspired Fantasy: Beneath the traditional wuxia exterior lies an unspeakable terror of ancient gods and physical mutations.

3. Now Available: 5 Million Players & Anniversary

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers launched on July 24, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and was included in Xbox Game Pass on day one.

One year after launch, the game has surpassed 5 million players worldwide. To celebrate the first anniversary, all editions received a 30% discount — the lowest price ever (standard edition from ¥248 to ¥173.6).

Post-Launch Content:

• Deluxe Expansion (February 2026): additional expansion content for owners of the deluxe edition.
• "Night & White" DLC (July 23, 2026): themed outfits and weapon packs inspired by the Black and White Impermanence (Heibai Wuchang).

According to reports, the development team has undergone changes since launch, and no official plans for new DLC or a sequel have been announced for the foreseeable future.
